Faith-filled sister, if you’ve been longing to GROW deeper in your walk with God but aren’t sure where to start, this post is for you. Life’s storms will come, but as Christian women, we are called to stand firm, rooted in God’s Word, and unshaken by every wind that blows. The Bible says that Jesus is our cornerstone—so we must take care in how we build our lives on Him.
Today, let’s break down three essential areas you must GROW in as a follower of Christ. These are the areas that will strengthen your faith, help you endure hard times, and empower you to live a life that glorifies God.
1. GROW in Identity
Your identity is the foundation of your faith. To GROW here, you need to know who God is and who He says you are. Scripture reminds us that God is spirit (John 4:24), God is love (1 John 4:8), and Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). He is Alpha and Omega—the beginning and the end (Revelation 22:13). And He is a promise keeper who does not lie (Numbers 23:19).
Once you know who God is, you can embrace who you are in Him. Genesis 1:27 reminds us that we are created in His image. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us we are new creations in Christ. 1 Peter 2:9 calls us chosen and set apart. When you GROW in this truth, you stop believing the lies of the enemy and start walking in the confidence of who God has created you to be.
2. GROW in Intimacy with God
Faith is not just knowing about God—it’s knowing Him personally. James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” GROW in intimacy by spending quality time with Him in prayer, reading His Word, and worship. This is where transformation happens.
The more you abide in Him (John 15:4-6), the more you will bear good fruit. Intimacy with God allows Him to reveal His heart, His plans, and His peace to you. When you GROW in closeness with the Lord, you develop unshakable trust—even when circumstances look impossible.
3. GROW in Implementation (Faith in Action)
As you begin to know who God is and who He says you are, you will naturally want to follow God and do things His way. Faith without action is dead (James 2:24). Romans 10:17 reminds us that faith comes by hearing the Word of Christ. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith, it’s impossible to please God.
To GROW here, take daily steps of obedience—even when you can’t see the outcome yet. Keep believing, keep trusting, and keep moving forward with God. This is where spiritual maturity is built.
